ExtremeZ-IP Windows Server Solutions PDF Print E-mail

Does your network operate a Windows file server with Macintosh clients? While Mac OS X can natively speak to Windows servers using the SMB protocol, it is less than idealfor Macintosh workgroups to operate this way with a file server. WIndows servers therefore offer Services for Macintosh, allowing the WIndows server to speak the native language of the Macintosh as a file server, Apple FIle Protocol or AFP. Unfortunately, Microsoft's Services for Macintosh has not been upgraded to take advantage to the latest improvements of AFP resulting in a less than stellar experience. This results in poor performance especially for displaying directories with a large number of files and performing searches. Equally problematic is the lack of support for long file names as well as support for files larger than 2GB in size.

To rectify these issues, Group Logic offers ExtremeZ-IP, a file server replacement for Services for Macintosh that resolves all of these issues providing your Macintosh users with lightening fast performance and full long name file support.

Additional features include Dashboard widgets to monitor your server, Kerberos functionality and file naming policies.

Please contact Sollos for additional details on ExtremeZ-IP and to schedule installation of a free fully functional demo of the product.
