Next Generation WiFi
WiFi has been around for many years now starting with 802.11b as seen in Apple's original Airport and later in the faster 802.11g branded as Airport Extreme by Apple. The next generation is being hammered out and will be called 802.11n. So far the standard has been having trouble getting certified. It has now aiming for speeds up to 300Mbps with a minimum of 100Mbps. The continuing delay leaves uncertainty as to when this standard will be finalized.
The 802.11n standard was finalized recently.
