Mac OS X Server Lion

Apple has shipped Mac OS X 10.7 Server Lion. Lion Server has available as a download from the Mac App Store after you first install Lion on a computer. Any Lion Mac can be turned into Lion Server.
Apple has simplified Lion Server to be more approachable to a larger audience, especially small business. The new Server app simplifies the process of configuring your server settings including users, groups, file sharing, iCal and the other major features available in Lion Server. A major new features of Lion Server is Profile Manager, which provides Mobile Device Management services for iOS and Mac OS X 10.7 or higher workstations.
Apple has reduced support for some functions that were previously available in Snow Leopard Server including removing MySQL and removing GUI support for many features such as NFS and FTP.
Sollos recommends delaying to installation of Mac OS X Server 10.7 at this time due to certain deficiencies in the current release. We will continue to test Lion Server and notify you once it has reached stability.
