Blink softphone for Mac OS X

The Blink softphone is a powerful VoIP softphone solution for Mac OS X. With a native Mac OS X interface and complete integration with Apple Address Book, Blink is the most Mac-friendly softphone available and integrates well with the Switchvox and Druid UCS IP PBX solutions. Blink provides your users, even if they also have a hard phone at their desk, with powerful features such as an integrated chat client that provides presence information. When you are making a call, the other users on your Druid UCS will see that you are busy on the phone. Similar to Apple's iChat, Blink even provides the ability to share screens. With future versions of Blink being available for Windows users as well, this functionality becomes more powerful.

      

Blink provides full Address Book integration. Start typing contact information in the search field and all matching results will appear. If you sync your Apple Address Book with Facebook, you will get the user's Facebook account. 

  

You can have a conference call via Blink by dragging your multiple ongoing calls on top of each other to merge them into a conference call. Once you have a conference started, you can individually mute the participants.

  

During a call, you can use the record button to make a local recording of this call. This will be saved in a special recording folder on your Mac.

  

While you are on a call, you can also start a chat session with that caller. The chat function in Blink allows you to do file transfers as well.

   

Blink supports Growl notification on Mac OS X. Growl is a popular Mac OS X add-on that provides alerts from software that is not currently in the foreground. Blink can use Growl to let alert you to an incoming call.

    

Blink will automatically change your presence status to "On the Phone" when you are receiving or making a phone call. You can also choose from a variety of of custom presence option to let people know if you are at lunch or in a meeting.

      

Blink is one of the first softphone solutions for Mac OS X to support Wideband audio. With Wideband audio you get a much richer call experience. Currently, you will be limited in whom you can speak with in Wideband to other users on your Switchvox or Druid UCS system unless you work with a telephony provider that offers Wideband support. In addition, anyone you wish to speak to in Wideband must also have a phone that supports Wideband. While Wideband is not widely supported today, it is a growing standard and the future of telephony. A Wideband call experience is so much richer and closer than what you have ever heard before.
