This document will review the standard configuration for a pfSense Firewall installation. The pfSense Firewall ships in a small red metal case with three Ethernet ports, one serial port and two USB ports. The Ethernet port closest to the power connector is the LAN port. This port will be connected into your networking switches and any wireless access points you may be using. The middle Ethernet port is the primary WAN connector and is used for your main broadband Internet connection from your provider. The last Ethernet port is your secondary WAN connector and is used for your backup Internet connection should you have one.
